How about our, Ben Vereecken Poster
Benjamin Vereecken, born January 7th 1867, in Temse Belgium. A noted saxophonist of the early twentieth century. Vereecken was among the most prominent musicians of the time. He began his career in 1885, as a saxophonist in the Belgian Army Fourth Regiment of Lancers. Then moving onto the, Barnum and Bailey Circus Band, Arthur Pryor, John Philip Sousa, Herbert L. Clarke, and others. In addition to his renown as a performer, Vereecken was also highly regarded as a composer, arranger, and educator eventually retiring in California. Since its publication in the 1920’s his innovative method book, Foundation to Saxophone Playing, has been a benefit to countless saxophone players. Practically every sax player I know studied from Foundation to Saxophone playing. Between it and The Universal Method for Saxophone you can’t go wrong.
